How Do I Determine My User Name & Password?

Students enrolled in an online class using the WebCT Classroom environment are issued a user account. To access your account you will need a User Name and Password.

To determine your User Name and Password use the following formula:

USER NAME
To determine your username, take the first two letters of your first name, the first four letters of your last name, and the last two digits of your social security number . Remember to use all lower case and no spaces in your user name.

e.g. Tom Smith's (Social Security Number: 555-55-1234) login name is tosmit34

SPECIAL CASES

Case 1:
Is your name hyphenated, a multi-word family name or does you last name contain prefix or a space within the first four letters ?

ie 'McGee', or 'Van Ness' or McDonald or ge-jones or

The login treats these names differently. You have to count the space as one of the 4 letters, but do not include it in your user ID. You are really just using the first 3 letters of your name.

i.e. Mc Gee becomes mcg, Van Ness becomes van

Case 2:
If your last name has less the 4 letters in it then you just use all the letters.

i.e. Fred Vo with SS number 1234 is frvo34

PASSWORD
Your password is derived from the Initials occ and the last 4 digits of your social security number. 

Follow the steps below to get your password:

• Use ``occ" as the first 3 characters
• Take the last four numbers of your social security number as the last 4 characters to make up your password.
• An example would be  occ1234

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AND
PEOPLE WHO DID NOT USE THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER WHEN REGISTERING FOR COURSES.
When you registered for your courses instead of using a social security number you were assigned a registation number. The last 4-digits of the registrartion number are used instead of a social security number. This number is not your Student ID number.

If you do not know your registration number you need to contact Online Student Technical Support stating that you are not using a Social Security number.
